Directions

“Bracken Ridge”, Piopio is the perfect base from which to explore the real New Zealand Heartland. We are only 1km off scenic State Highway 3 between Hamilton (1 ¼ hrs) and New Plymouth (1 ¾ hrs) through bush clad hills to the spectacular west coast road and, only 10km from State Highway 4 to the Volcanic Plateau and Skifields (1 ½ hrs), Taupo (1 ½ hrs) and Rotorua (1 ¾ hrs).

From the north travelling south on State Highway 3, Te Kuiti is the town before Piopio coming from this direction. Once you are in Piopio, turn left onto Ruru Street at the town centre. Ruru Street becomes Aria Road at the first intersection. Keep going straight ahead, past Piopio College, around a gentle right hand turn. The driveway to Bracken Ridge Country Bed and Breakfast is the first on the right after the 100km sign. It is tree-lined and goes up the hill (see photo below Piopio map). If you pass a bridge on your left, you have gone too far.

From the south travelling north on State Highway 3, Awakino is the town before Piopio coming from this direction. Once you are in Piopio, turn right onto Ruru Street at the town centre. Ruru Street becomes Aria Road at the first intersection. Keep going straight ahead, past Piopio College, around a gentle right hand turn. The driveway to Bracken Ridge Country Bed and Breakfast is the first on the right after the 100km sign. It is tree-lined and goes up the hill (see photo below Piopio map). If you pass a bridge on your left, you have gone too far.
